On 4th August, the final of the Japan Sommelier Association’s Best Sommelier of Japan competition was finally held. Originally scheduled for March, JSA had wanted to engage a large audience but had to abandon the idea due to an increase in the number of new COVID cases in Tokyo.
Congratulations to Best Sommelier winner Taku IGURO (from 3 Michelin star restaurant, l’Osier) and the runner up Miyuki MORIMOTO (Conrad Hotel Tokyo) will represent Japan at the next Best Sommelier of Asia & Oceania competition to be hosted in Australia. Miyuki is the first woman to represent Japan at an ASI competition.
JSA live streamed the Finals and have generously shared the Youtube videos.
