Code of Conduct

One of the most important values underlying the governance of Sommeliers Australia is to maintain professional integrity, and our Committees nationally work hard to positively promote the service of wine, education and the sommelier profession in Australia.

Since 2018, Sommeliers Australia has had a Code of Conduct in place. Committee members and Professional members engaged in scholarships, competitions and immersion visits have been expected to sign and adhere to this Code.

The Sommeliers Australia National Executive Committee and D&I Working Group regularly update the Code, with a view to improving the standards of, and to encourage diversity and inclusion in, the sommelier profession in Australia.

As key stakeholders in Sommeliers Australia, all of our members – Professional and Enthusiast – are asked to make a commitment to uphold the association’s values and follow the Sommeliers Australia Code of Conduct.

United in our passion for wine and the sommelier profession, by adhering to the Code of Conduct at association events and applying them to daily work practice, Sommeliers Australia’s members can help lead the change in improving the professional standards of our industry.
