“It is not the strongest species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the most responsive to change.”
Charles Darwin, Naturalist

The Australian wine landscape has been through many changes over recent years. Not only are local producers exploring and working in the most celebrated international wine regions, but climate change is undeniably being experienced on a global scale, modifying the characteristics of many wine regions.

Join Sommeliers Australia and panellist David LeMire MW as we look at and discuss wines from a selection of Australian producers with extensive knowledge of non-traditional or ’emerging’ varieties thriving in an Australian climate: Crittenden, Chalmers, Konpira Maru, La Linea, S.C. Pannell.

This masterclass aims to showcase the potential of Italian, Spanish and other traditionally European varieties in the Australian environment, rather than compare local examples to their European counterparts. Although we don’t mind them at all!
