Next up, we have Yu Kurosawa, for our ‘Spotlight on Committee’ series…

With hospitality in her veins and passion for the vine, Yu serves as a Committee member in WA. Growing up, her parents were in the hotel and accommodation industry, which helped path her way into the world of food and wine.

She moved to New Zealand from Japan to learn English, then studied Travel Management in London. Yu’s wine career began in these countries, and was further fostered when she relocated to Melbourne and began working full time as a sommelier.

She currently works for Bakkheia Wines and manages Market Eating House in Bunbury. Yu is also pursuing other aspects of the wine world, by taking on the challenges of wine judging, working through vintages, brand marketing and winemaking.
