I am:
Mirco Tarducci, Group Beverage Manager, Steves (WA Committee)
I became a Committee member to:
I joined the committee to help existing and aspiring young wine professionals develop their skills and learn their craft in a friendly, inclusive, positive environment, and to share my passion for this industry. Hospitality has changed in the past decade and is becoming more inclusive but still needs a lot of work.
My background is:
I grew up in Italy and arrived in Australia in 2012 where I have spent the last 10 years (with a break of 2 years while I was in Macao). I started in hospitality while studying like many others do, just to realise how much I love this industry.I discovered a passion for wine in 2013 and enrolled in WSET Level 2 and haven’t looked back since. I’ve passed WSET Level 3 and Court of Master Sommelier Certified and am currently preparing for my Advanced and ASI certification. I always strive to learn more. The highlight of my career was winning the Ruinart Challenge for Hong Kong and Macao in 2019.
One thing people may not know about me is…
I keep my shirts arranged by colour in the closet. From white all the way to black.
The motto I live by is:
Don’t be afraid of trying. Good days make you happy, bad ones give you experience.
My dream indulgence would be:
To open a bottle of Monfortino with my grandfather, who is the person I inherited my wine passion from and who loves Piedmont wines.
What I enjoy most about being a part of the wine industry is
The connection we can establish with people through the passion for wine.
