I am: Lisa Cardelli, State Sales Manager for Terroir Selections and WSET educator (VIC Committee & D&I Working Group) |
I became a Committee member to: Initially because I felt invisible and irrelevant in the Australian wine industry. Over the years instead I’ve realised that I’m here because I like to share knowledge, wine and always a joke. |
My background is: I was born in Italy and on 26 October 2021, I became an Australian citizen! So, stop asking me if I’m here with a temporary Visa…! |
One thing people may not know about me is… I had my first glass of wine at 4 years old, but I didn’t get serious about the whole thing until I was 25. |
The motto I live by is: Speak less, do more. |
My role model is: Sarah Andrew. She is one of the very few selfless human beings that I’ve ever met, doing a load of great things to create a more inclusive and diverse wine industry. And she could drive half an hour to just have a toast with you at your Citizenship party and then drive back to work! |
My dream indulgence: Would be [a bottle of] 1921 Château d’Yquem. |
