Liam has spent over 20 years working in a range of different hospitality settings, including restaurants, bars, retail and cafes. This puts him in a unique position to guide the next generation of wine professionals through his work with Sommeliers Australia in the National Executive Committee, and the Victoria Committee.

A CMS Certified Sommelier, Liam was awarded Dux in the inaugural Sommeliers Australia Education Program in 2008. He then participated in the Len Evans Tutorial, hailed as ‘the most exclusive wine school in the world’, and was also awarded Dux, in 2010.

Liam then went on to win prestigious industry awards, including Wine List of the Year for Marion in 2016 by the Good Food Guide, and the Best Victorian Wine List for Cutler and Co in 2022, by Gourmet Traveller.

He is currently the Wine and Beverage Manager for Cutler & Co Dining Room, and Marion Wine Bar in Fitzroy. Liam’s love for wines extends past service and into winemaking. Under his label Athletes of Wine, Liam makes wine using fruit from the Macedon Ranges, Glenrowan, and the Alpine and King Valleys.
