On ‘Spotlight on Committee’ today, we introduce Kim Bickley…

Widely considered as one of the top sommeliers in the country, Kim brings with her extensive knowledge and experience to her role a member of the New South Wales Committee for Sommeliers Australia. Her desire to help sommeliers connect professionally and assist them in opening opportunities within the industry speaks to her passion for the people of wine.

Having grown up in an oyster farm on the Gold Coast, Kim entered the service industry and fell in love with the community and their love for food and wine. She moved to Sydney to hone her skills, working under great mentors before spreading her wings and running the wine programs at some of Sydney’s most prestigious restaurants.

Kim is a CMS Certified Sommelier, a Len Evans Scholar, a Sommeliers Australia Tutorial Scholar, and a WSET Educator. Her experiences goes beyond service – she was the brand ambassador for Bollinger, Henschke and Petaluma, and is now a member of the Wine Selector’s Tasting panel. She is a seasoned wine judge, judging for Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards, and at wine shows all over Australia.

She relocated to the Hunter Valley alongside her partner at Thomas Wines, and continues to foster growth and connection in the wine industry.
