While our Committee Spotlight has so far focused on Sommeliers Australia’s diverse and talented national Committee members, in our two final posts for this series we meet the team who work behind the scenes to keep the association running…

I AM:
Jamie Sprague, by ‘day’ the Cellar Door Manager for Tractorless Vineyard in the Southern Highlands and at ‘night’ NSW Event & Social Media Coordinator for Sommeliers Australia.
MY BACKGROUND IS:
I come from a background of working in restaurants and hotels. I spent years working on the floor and managing restaurants and fell in love with creating experiences.

I wanted to experience more of the other side of wine, so I dived into working as a Cellar Door Manager.

ONE THING PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT ME IS…
I began studying for a Bachelor of Law and Business. I loved it, but I loved the excitement of wine and hospitality more, so I decided to pursue a career in hospitality instead!
THE MOTTO I LIVE BY IS:
Life is too short for bad wine.
MY ROLE MODELS ARE:
[Women of wine] Sarah Andrew, Louella Matthews, Bridget Raffal, Jane Lopes.
WHAT I ENJOY MOST ABOUT BEING A PART OF THE WINE INDUSTRY IS …
The community!
