Evan is one of the longest serving committee members of Sommeliers Australia for Victoria. His heart is in supporting the future of the wine industry, by cultivating a sense of community and healthy competition among young sommeliers, especially through the yearly Warriors of Wine event.
Evan cut his teeth in hospitality working for lauded restaurants such as Vue de Monde, Royal Mail Hotel and Walters Wine Bar, before eventually running his own place in Torquay called Scorched.
Having fallen in love with wines, his next venture tied him closer to the grape. His reliable and friendly disposition made it an easy decision to start distributing wine under #StockonHand, where he works with like- minded, quality small producers.
His love of wines also drove him to make them , using non-classical grape varieties from all over Victoria, in a collaborative process with other winemakers, under his label, Mutual Promise.
