I AM:
Ceri Kidby-Salom, Senior Waiter (Wine) at Coppa Spuntino and Women in Hospitality (QLD) Committee and Mentor (QLD Committee)
I BECAME A COMMITTEE MEMBER TO:
I have a background in Events Management and a huge passion for education, training and sharing the story of wine so I thought I could lend a hand!
MY BACKGROUND IS:
I came back into Front of House after a number of years in Events, a health degree, and a divorce. I started back in wine bars and bartending and then wound up back in management and of course, wine
THE MOTTO I LIVE BY IS:
There’s only ever two outcomes in life; good times and good stories. Also, everything is figureoutable.
MY ROLE MODEL IS:
Anyone who has overcome personal challenges and found their passion. I love the way people’s eyes light up when they talk about something they love, and I’ve been very privileged to work with a number of incredible people who love wine like that.
THE PERFECT MEAL WOULD BE:

I’d love to have Manzanilla and oysters with my late Dad, then a Pinot and roast duck with grilled veggies… but honestly it wouldn’t be too long before he was into the bourbon.

WHAT I ENJOY MOST ABOUT BEING A PART OF THE WINE INDUSTRY IS …
I love sharing the passion for wine and hospitality with others through training and mentoring. I’m in it for the passion, people, stories, and especially the opportunity to facilitate an incredible experience for guests when they have a new sensory awakening. It feels like magic.
