For our ‘Spotlight on Committee’ today, we introduce Bridget Raffal…

As Sommeliers Australia Vice President and NSW Committee member, Bridget is on the mission to change the status quo through her passion in social justice and the community of wine.

With 15+ years’ experience in hospitality, she first made her mark as the Head Sommelier of Sixpenny, where she helped secure their highly coveted third hat, and a slew of other awards.

Bridget is a two-time winner of the Sommeliers’ Choice Award, and now part-owns and directs the beverage program for Where’s Nick Wine Bar. Her list focuses on small producers and minimal intervention wines, leading her to win Australia’s Best Wine Bar List 2023, and be named Sommelier of the Year 2023 by the Good Food Guide.

A restaurant and wine consultant, and a wine judge, Bridget also wants to empower her peers and make the industry a more inclusive space. She has co-founded Women and Revolution in 2021, a charity that works to overcome gender inequality in the Australian wine industry.

Bridget is also a founder member of Sommeliers Australia’s Diversity and Inclusion Working Group.
