Congratulations to the Australian sommeliers, and their peers worldwide, who passed the first-ever ASI Certification 1 exam!
In what was a truly worldwide exercise, 242 candidates (representing 29 nationalities) sat the inaugural ASI Certification 1 exam on 10 December 2021 in 17 countries.
The ASI Exam Committee’s rigorous 100 question exam really tested the candidates mettle and knowledge. Of the 242 who sat the exam, only 171 candidates passed.
After what was a difficult year, all of the candidates should be proud of challenging themselves in trying to achieve a new accreditation, whether they passed or not.
Sommeliers Australia would like to extend special thanks to the 5 invigilators who volunteered their time and made it possible for our association to offer the exam to members in ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC and WA.
