What inspired me to become a sommelier:
My Grandfather was a man of the land. Growing vineyards, forest and more. He taught us the smell of the nature.
My role model is:
Gerard Basset – He was a great inspiration because I was lucky enough to work with him. He always gave great advice on the job, was humble and so kind to share his passion amongst other sommeliers in the trade. His enthusiasm was priceless to watch. Every day I learnt something new!
My favourite food and beverage match is:
Japanese food with Junmai Gingo Sake from Yamagata Prefecture, Dewazakura or an off-dry Riesling from Germany.
What I hope to get out of competing in the Best Sommelier of Australia 2020…
