What inspired me to become a sommelier:
While travelling and pursuing perpetual summer, I developed a trend of working as a bartender at night and doing cellar door sales during the day.  The first time that I encountered a somm was during my time as a bar supervisor at the Print Hall in Perth. By this time I had fallen in love with wine and it seemed like a natural transition.
What I love about my profession:
I love that every day is different and that I get to share my passion for wine with my staff and guests.
How can a producer get their wine/beverage on my list?
Jackalope Mornington Peninsula is located on Willow Creek Vineyard (11ha), and our wine list at Doot Doot Doot is focused on producers/vineyards of a similar size or smaller.
What I hope to get out of competing in the Best Sommelier of Australia 2020…
I’m looking forward to competing against some of the best sommeliers in Australia and sharpening my skills in preparation for the MS exam next year.
