Originally from Umbria, Katia moved to Melbourne in 2011 where she completed a Master’s in Advertising at RMIT, while working on the floor at Gill’s Diner. In 2013 Katia relocated to Perth, where she joined the crew at Restaurant Amusè, before teaming up with her husband’s family to pursue the dream of opening their own Italian restaurant, and bringing their Italian hospitality to the other side of the world.

She is now the co-owner of two Mount Lawley venues: Threecoins and Sons, a modern interpretation of the traditional trattoria, and Testun Bar, a playful and contemporary Italo-Australian osteria. Both venues were awarded a Good Food Guide hat in 2025, and Testun received the Young Gun of Wine’s Maverick Award in 2022.

Over the past 11 years, Katia has overseen operations and management across the two venues while remaining hands-on in front-of-house, with a focus on genuine Italian hospitality. In recent years, her long standing love of wine has evolved into a more focused pursuit of expanding her wine education and knowledge, fuelling a growing passion to integrate wine more meaningfully into her career. She holds WSET Level 3, and was a recipient of the 2025 Sommeliers Australia Education Scholarship.
