[VIC] Steve Senturk – Edition Group
Steve Senturk has worked in hospitality for over 25 years. After many years in restaurant management, he transitioned into the world of wine and quickly developed a deep passion for the knowledge and craft of the sommelier profession.
Since moving into a sommelier role, Steve has overseen several acclaimed wine and beverage programs. He previously held the position of Head Sommelier at Bentley Restaurant + Bar, where the wine list was recognised as a World Finalist at the Star Wine List of the Year Awards. He later joined Reine & La Rue and is now the Group Sommelier for Edition Group, overseeing the wine programs across the group’s venues.
While working as a sommelier, Steve completed several major certifications in the field, including the WSET Diploma, the Advanced Sommelier Certificate, and the ASI Diploma. He is currently working towards the Master Sommelier Diploma. A recent highlight of his career was representing Australia at the World Blind Tasting Championship, where Team Australia finished in third place.
While Steve enjoys the academic side of wine, his favourite part of the profession remains working on the restaurant floor with guests. To deepen his understanding of wine beyond books and theory, he has also worked vintages in several regions around the world, including Burgundy, the Mosel, and Mendoza. These experiences have helped him bridge the gap between theory and service, giving him a practical and grounded understanding of the world’s wine regions.
