Our Sip Recap | Australian Wine in the Spotlight. Our Sip Recap | Australian Wine in the Spotlight.

What better way to celebrate Australian wine than through the bottles that are inspiring us?

Different places. Different producers. Countless reasons to drink Australian
Today in Brisbane, Marcel reminded us that sometim Today in Brisbane, Marcel reminded us that sometimes the most powerful stories are told through patience.

His blind tasting was a heartfelt homage to the beauty of bottle age, celebrating wines that have quietly evolved over time and reminding us why Australian wine deserves to stand proudly among the world's greatest.

In an industry facing undeniable challenges, Marcel's thoughtful curation felt especially poignant. Three Australian wines, each carrying years of history in the bottle, sat confidently alongside a classic Rioja, demonstrating that age is not reserved for the Old World alone—it is something our producers have been mastering for decades.

🍷 2005 Sons of Eden 'Freya' Riesling, Eden Valley, SA @sonsofeden – supplied by @fesqco
🍷 2020 Streicker 'Ironstone Block Old Vine' Chardonnay, Margaret River, WA @clairaultstreicker – supplied by @davisandwhitewine
🍷 2015 Yangarra GSM, McLaren Vale, SA @yangarraestate – supplied by @mezzaninewine
🍷 2007 Familia Chávarri Izarbe Gran Reserva, Rioja, Spain @familiachavarri – supplied by @bouchonwines

Each glass spoke of place, of time, and of the quiet confidence that comes from allowing great wine to become even greater.

Australian wine has always had the ability to age with elegance, complexity and authenticity. It simply asks us to slow down long enough to appreciate it.
