Flanking the longest river in Spain – the bountiful Ebro and its seven tributaries – are the vineyards of the famed region of Rioja.  

Join Sommeliers Australia’s WA Committee member Yu Kurosawa (Bakkheia Wines) and President, Sarah Andrew (WSET Global) as they taste and discuss their way through the unique microclimates and terrains sprawled across the region’s many valleys, and explain how the terroir is reflected in the glass.

This in-depth exploration of only one of two DOCas in Spain will take you from the historic winemaking town of Haro to the much lesser known region of Rioja Oriental, showcasing not only classic Tempranillo-based red wines of various maturity, but also more obscure white and rose styles.
