The perennial favourite, the Sommeliers Australia “Warriors of Wine” Sommeliers Long Lunch is finally back!

This year the “Warrior of Wine” title holder will be decided on by those in the dining arena, on Sunday 18 September at the Builders Arms Hotel.

For the 2022 showdown it’s City versus Regional, with the battlelines being drawn by three of Victoria’s most talented sommeliers:

Amy Oliver, Pt Leo Estate
Noah Rozenfeld, 10 Minutes By Tractor

The challenge will be for each “Warrior” to each present three wines to match three courses prepared by the talented team at the Builders Arms Hotel.

Accompanying the three course ‘battle rounds’ will be an aperitif on arrival, plus a glass of something delicious – selected by Susei Ko, our 2019 Warrior of Wine – to match a cheese course from our friends at Calendar Cheese. In total 11 wines will be served.

The winner will be determined by the gathered wine and food lovers of Melbourne, who will cast votes for their favourite wine matches.

Not only is this a fantastic opportunity to see three of Melbourne’s best sommeliers put through their paces, but the lunch will also include a fundraising raffle and auction. This year funds raised will go towards supporting Sommeliers Australia’s two candidates who will compete at the ASI Best Sommelier of Asia & Oceania competition in November 2022.

Timing – Doors will open from 12pm for aperitifs, sitting down at 12.30pm for lunch. Proceedings will conclude around 4pm.

Seating – Seating will be on long shared tables; guests can select where they sit.

Menu – Served as set sharing courses. Please ensure dietary requirements are made known at the time of booking.
