The Wine Scholar Guild is an highly regarded, internationally recognised Wine Education body which provides in depth insight into specific wine producing countries.

The Italian Wine Scholar Prep course is a 4 session course designed to address the needs of the inquisitive wine enthusiast and aspiring wine professional alike. As a foundation course, IWS Prep remains accessible but is content-rich and full of cultural highlights and fine Italian wine.

The course provides an introduction to Italy, explores its key wine regions and delivers core information on 39 of the country’s need-to-know wines.

IWS Prep is your passport to understanding Italian wine.

This course is delivered over four sessions on the following dates:

03/08/2022: 6:30pm – 9pm – Introduction and Sparkling Wine of Italy
10/08/2022: 6:30pm – 9pm – Northern Italian Reds and Whites
17/08/2022: 6:30pm – 9pm – Central Italian Reds and Whites
24/08/2022: 6:30pm – 9pm – Southern Italian Reds and Whites
31/08/2022: 6:30pm – Exam

Location: Wine House Upstairs Tasting Rooms, 133 Queensbridge St, Southbank.

Premium wine tasting is a feature of each session, along with valuable insight into the content along with learning aids. The price of the course includes access to the IWS Prep online resources for 1 year.

The exam is comprised of 50 multiple-choice questions in 45 minutes and on passing students receive a certificate, pin and ‘IWSprep’ post-nominal.

Please note: No refunds will be issued within 10 working days prior to the start of the course. Before that period a 75% refund is allowed if a student cancels their enrolment. A 100% refund will apply if Wine House cancels. There is a re-sit exam fee of $150 if a student does not attend the exam for any reason or fails the exam.
