Learn how the Australian Wine Show System works and become a judge yourselves! We will taste three brackets of wines – each of four wines with one gold, one silver one bronze and one with no award.

This discussion will also cover many other aspects of the Australian Wine Show system. Come along with all your questions!

We have a star-studded panel who will explain how to judge as the Australian Wine Show judges judge, lead you through the process and talk about the Australian Wine Show system in general. They are:

 

Jeni Port is a wine writer, judge & author based in Melbourne.

Jeni Port

Jeni was the longest serving wine writer on The Age and has written for most Australian wine magazines including Winestate, Wine Selector, James Halliday Wine magazine and Gourmet Traveller Wine. She also writes for Meininger’s Wine Business International magazine. 

In 2018, Jeni was named Legend of the Vine by the Victorian chapter of the Wine Communicators of Australia.

 

Meg Brodtmann MW is a winemaker with more than twenty years’ experience across three continents. Meg is currently the Senior Winemaker at Helen and Joey Estate in the Yarra Valley.

Thoroughly distinguished throughout her career, Meg has been the Chair of the International Cool Climate Wine Show for 5 years and judges at various regional and international wine shows.

She is well known to many in the industry via her teaching WSET Levels 2 to 4 (Diploma) in Melbourne. Meg is actively involved in the Master of Wine educational programme.

 

Angie Bradbury, Founder & Managing Director, Dig&Fish

Angie started her first agency in 2000 which specialised in wine and food communications.

Angie is a highly respected and sought-after marketing strategist with close to two decades working with leading brands in hospitality, leisure, tourism and agriculture.

Angie remains heavily involved in the wine industry most notably as the Chair of Wine Victoria, the peak body representing the industry.

 

 

This event will raise money for the Victorian Women in Wine scholarship.  This scholarship provides funding for a female working or wanting to work in the Victorian wine industry to study WSET Level 2 or 3.
