* SOLD OUT  – waitlist open*
The history of winemaking has strong ties to the use of amphorae. While these vessels are part of winemaking tradition in some parts of the world, they are regarded as avant-garde in other regions.
In Australia, small-format oak barrels have been predominantly used to forge the country’s regional and varietal styles. Times are changing, though, and several quality-focused producers have been experimenting “Beyond Barrique” to reshape the future of winemaking.
From clay amphorae to concrete eggs and even stainless steel tanks, we’re uncorking the secrets of alternative aging vessels and their influence on the flavour profile of grape varieties from near and far!
Join Sommeliers Australia’s Marcell Kustos (LUDO Wines) and Shaughn Jenkins (DipWSET; Through the Cellar Door) alongside guest speakers leading the way for alternative vessels: Amelia Nolan (Alkina Wine Estate), Peter Fraser (Yangarra Estate and Hickinbotham Wines), and David LeMire MW (Shaw+Smith and MMAD Vineyard).
Space is limited, so reserve your seat today and elevate your wine knowledge with “Beyond Barrique”!
