Have you ever wondered about the artistry, innovation, patience, and commitment it requires to produce a Rutherglen Muscat?

Better yet, have you ever wondered the difference in Muscats that makes Rutherglen’s so unique to the world?

The Winemakers of Rutherglen Muscat of Rutherglen (MoR) committee is hitting the highway to bring their Rutherglen Muscat classification grid tasting to Melbourne, especially for Sommeliers Australia.

Rich and opulent Muscat of Rutherglen is an international treasure. Impossible to replicate, thanks to the unique combination of climate, soils, old wine stocks that have been nurtured by multiple generations and the skills of the region’s master blenders, this iconic fortified wine is recognised and revered within Australia and overseas, keeping the region on the world stage for the past 150 years.

There are four classifications that define Muscat of Rutherglen. The classification reflects the variety’s richness, complexity, and intensity of flavour. Only wines that meet the requirements of this classification system are awarded the much sought-after Muscat of Rutherglen stamp of authenticity.

Join hosts, Rutherglen winemaking legends, Jen Pfeiffer (Pfeiffer Wines) and Stephen Chambers (Chambers Rosewood Winery), with Sommeliers Australia’s Sarah Andrew (WSET Global) as they bring the classification together and uncover the hidden side of this uniquely Australian, inherently Rutherglen craft during this exclusive and expansive tasting of 27 muscats. Get to know the ins and outs of Rutherglen House Styles with this in-depth comparative grid tasting.
