[ONLINE] Discover Chenin Blanc
Date: August 9, 2021#3:00 pm-4:00 pm AEST
In this ‘Discover Variety’ online session, we’re diving into Chenin Blanc!
With its high acidity, distinctive texture and spectrum of floral/fruit/spice, Chenin Blanc is an oft overlooked yet highly versatile food wine. Capable of spanning the divide between Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc is considered by many as one of the unsung heroes of white wine.
Join Sommeliers Australia’s Matt Brooke (Crown Melbourne), Evan Milne (StockOnHand) and guest sommelier Claire Tonon (Voyager Estate) as they explore three key Chenin Blanc producing regions, and compare one of Australia’s best examples with wines from two countries far better known for the variety. They will highlight the similarities and discuss the differences, and chat about styles and applications of this multifaceted white grape variety.
The three wines:
|Voyager Estate Chenin Blanc, Margaret River WA (750ml)
̶ $20 RRP
|Pithon-Paillé ‘Mozaïk’ Chenin Blanc, Loire Valley FRA (750ml)
̶ $49 RRP
|AA Badenhorst ‘Secateurs’ Chenin Blanc, Swartland STH AFR (750ml)
̶ $30 RRP
|[Total value ̶ $99 RRP]|
