[NSW] Sommelier Competition Q&A with international judge Peer F. Holm
Date: March 29, 2020#3:00 pm-4:30 pm
Session postponed due to international travel restrictions
With the Best Sommelier of Australia 2020 competition and Court of Master Sommeliers Advanced exams just around the corner, Sommeliers Australia is excited to host a Best Sommelier Q&A session with Peer F. Holm, President of the German Sommeliers Association, wine educator and international competition judge.
With German Sommeliers Association candidate Marc Almert, taking out the title of ASI Best Sommelier of the World 2019, Peer is well positioned to share some insight into the world of sommelier competitions.
During the Q&A session, Peer will briefly discuss the techniques required to actively participate in a ‘Best Sommelier’ competition – theoretical knowledge, practical skill, tips and tricks – in a casual format. The floor will then be open to more specific questions from those attending.
“I’m really thrilled to have the opportunity to meet so many somms in Australia and I’ll do my very best to give all of them support and ideas.” Peer F. Holm
Peer F. Holm – a brief bio

Transitioning to the international wholesale wine trade, and through his amassed expertise Peer now works with producers and organisations across all the aspects necessary to sell a glass of wine – or even better: two glasses!
Well versed in the international sommeliers competition and wine judging scene, Peer has over the years continued to be involved in contests and sit on judging panels.
Alongside running his consulting business, Peer has been involved in the management of the German Sommelier Association since the mid-2000s, and has been the President of the association since 2017.
Peer considers connecting people as one of his most important missions, and his work with the German Sommeliers Association allows him to network and connect with people from across the globe even more than his day-today business activities.
