Join five of Australia’s great chardonnay producers for a free tasting at Buttered, Handpicked Wines Aussie Chardonnay Festival celebrating the country’s OG (original grape) on Tuesday 22 October at Handpicked Wines CBD cellar door in Sydney’s Chippendale.

The line-up features Giant Steps, Handpicked Wines, Oakridge, Savaterre and Tyrrell’s, who will be on hand to showcase the best of their new-world, low-intervention styles.

Sample your way through more than 20 different wines that highlight the regional diversity of Australia’s cool climate growing regions, with Peter Dillon director of winemaking at Handpicked Wines, Savaterre’s winemaker Keppell Smith, chief winemaker of Oakridge David Bicknell and Steve Flamsteed, chief winemaker from Giant Steps, on hand to guide you through their finest, along with representatives from Tyrell’s.

The tasting will also have a few delicious snacks dedicated to the best of Australiana – a sausage sizzle with Vic’s Meats, cheese from the cellar door’s delicious range of fromage (no Babybel cheeses here!) – plus an iced vovo or two.

In attendance:

Giant Steps: Steve Flamsteed, Chief Winemaker; Handpicked Wines: Pete Dillon, Director of Winemaking; Oakridge: David Bicknell, Chief Winemaker; Savaterre: Keppell Smith, Winemaker; Tyrrell’s: Ashley Tolerton, Commercial Manager
