The Advanced Certificate qualification is designed to give a thorough understanding of the principal wines of the world, and their commercial importance in the world’s liquor market.
The qualification will assist those who are required to make professional evaluations of wines, with regard to their commercial value in the retail and hospitality industry. It also provides candidates with an in-depth understanding of wine styles, wine regions, grape varieties, and wine production methods. Holders of the WSET level 3 Advanced Certificate in Wines will be able to describe the characteristics of the principle wines of the world and give information on the key factors influencing style, quality and value.
The qualified student will also be in a position to advise management, to answer customer queries authoritatively, and to make informed selections of wines in a variety of situations. The Course is also suitable for keen enthusiasts wanting to continue their wine studies in a structured manner.

– Tasting Techniques
– Burgundy and Alsace
– Bordeaux and South West France
– Loire, Rhone and Southern France
– Germany, Austria, Hungary
– Italy
– Spain and Portugal
– USA, Canada and Chile
– Greece, Argentina and South Africa
– Sparkling wines
– Fortified wine
Palate training is part of every lesson.
This course runs for 7 weeks on Monday and Tuesday evenings from the 20th March 2023 to the 2nd of May 2023 6:30pm – 8:30pm/9pm & one intensive Saturday on the 22nd April 2023 11am – 6pm.
Detailed Course Dates and Times:
– Mondays and Tuesdays on 20/03, 21/03, 27/03, 28/03, 03/04, 04/04, 11/04, 17/04, 18/04, 24/04, 01/05, 02/05, Time: 6:30pm – 8:30pm/9pm. (Please note: there is NO lesson on Public Holidays 10/04 and Tuesday 25/04.)
– Intensive Saturday 22/04, Time: 11am – 6pm.
Exam will be held on Tuesday the 9th of May at 6pm.
Refund Policy:
No refunds will be issued within 10 working days prior to the start of the course. Before that period a 75% refund is allowed if a student cancels their enrolment. A 100% refund will apply if Wine House cancels. There is a re-sit exam fee of $200 if a student does not attend the exam for any reason or fails the exam.
