The Sommeliers Australia Education Sub-Committee is pleased to announce the 12 Scholars selected to attend the 2022 Sommeliers Australia Education Scholarship.

The Education Scholarship was created to ensure that the next generation of sommeliers and wine professionals receive the training and support required to successfully advance in the profession.

This year the Education Scholarship received close to 70 applications from sommeliers and wine professionals across the country. The majority of applications received were from candidates not currently in senior sommelier/wine positions, looking to extend their wine tasting and assessment knowledge outside the realms of what they are exposed to on a daily basis.

Each application was assessed independently by three panel members. Applicant responses were reviewed blind (names, location, workplaces were not visible), and the successful 12 Scholars were identified purely on their merits.

The 12 Scholars have now been aligned with one of our generous Education Scholarship Partners.
