What inspired me to become a sommelier: Working in my parent’s gastronomy and wine shop in Florence when I was young. When I was about 18-19 years old I tried a bottle of very cheap wine next to a Sassicaia and the difference struck me; few months later I was already registered for the 1st level of study with the Italian Sommelier Association. |
My greatest professional achievement is: Winning the Ruinart Challenge last year is probably the best one (and one of the greatest wine experiences in my life) |
My favourite food and beverage match is: Bistecca alla Fiorentina & Brunello di Montalcino (back to my origins…) |
What I hope to get out of competing in the Best Sommelier of Australia 2020… I am already so happy just to be in the final 12! However competing in the final with some of the top Somms in Australia will be another unique experience. |
