DESCRIPTION:JOIN US FOR A COFFEE!\nSommeliers Australia is the premier professional association for Sommeliers and the wine trade in Australia. Well established and active in the other states\, we would like to see the association flourishing again in Queensland. \nCurrently in place there is a small – but dedicated – QLD Event Committee who are looking to enlist the support of other sommeliers and enthusiasts who also want to help develop our professional association. \nWho are we looking for?\nSommeliers – anyone working as a sommelier\, in the front-line of wine/beverage service at a hospitality venue\, or as a director of a wine program in a hospitality setting. \nEnthusiasts – people allied to us either through their profession (e.g. wine industry sales rep\, past sommelier\, chef\, wine-maker)\, or their love of wine (e.g. a keen wine enthusiast with a thirst for knowledge). \nWhat do we want to do?\nHave a coffee with you. We will even shout the first round! \nBut there is no such thing as free coffee. \nWe want you to give us serious feedback on what Sommeliers Australia can do for you in Queensland! Of course\, we would love to have you formally join us\, but that is not a requirement to attend the meeting. \nIf\, out of the meeting\, we can develop a small committee of dedicated people to help us run educational and tasting events in Queensland that would be great. But our main goals are: \n\nGet feedback on what Sommeliers in Queensland would like to see from their professional association.\nGet an understanding of what events Sommeliers and Enthusiasts would be most interested in supporting in Queensland.\nGet an understanding of what education we can assist or promote that would best serve Sommeliers in Queensland.\nGet an understanding of how many Sommeliers and Enthusiasts of Sommeliers there are in Queensland who would like to be part of a professional association.\n\nAre you interested? \nWhy should you attend?\nIf you are a sommelier\, aspiring to be a sommelier\, or a wine enthusiast\, then this is your chance to become actively involved with the preeminent Sommeliers professional organisation in Australia. \nThat does not mean you must tie yourself up for hours of meetings\, regular meals or selling raffle tickets to raise funds. We are a professional\, volunteer managed organisation and we want to support sommeliers and the wine trade in Queensland. \nWhat we most want to know is how sommeliers want to be supported in Queensland! \nWhere and when?\nWe will meet at:\nPrince of Wales Hotel\, Nundah – Corner of Buckland and Sandgate Road\, Nundah\n11am on Monday 13 May\, 2019 \nHow to get an invitation?\nThe meeting will be by invitation only.
