The wine industry can be tricky one to crack; there’s no shortage of nepotism\, and it can be overwhelming figuring out how your skills fit into different areas of the wine world. \nIn partnership with Blackhearts & Sparrows and Melbourne Food and Wine Festival\, this event brings you Melbourne’s finest wine professionals spanning the world of hospitality\, winemaking\, viticulture\, events\, writing\, wine judging and retail to a panel discussing how to get into the industry. They’ll be sharing pieces of advice and personal stories of experience. Perhaps you’ve recently gotten into wine\, and want to know what sort of career options are available to you. Maybe you’re already a wine professional\, but want to sidestep and move into a different part of the industry. In any case\, meet some people who have a wealth of experience and are there to answer to your questions about the wine industry and point you in the right direction. \nOur panellists include Leanne Altman of Trader House\, Sarah Andrews of WSET\, Anna Webster of Halliday\, Mel Chester of Giant Steps and Kokoda O’Bryan. After the panel\, we’ll be hosting a networking session with even more legends across the industry\, so you’ll have all the time to ask those area specific questions. Even if you’re not wanting to make a whole career change\, but learn more about wine and dip your toes in a little more\, do come along. \nThis event is open to everyone\, but we strongly encourage QBIPOC community members to come along (your ticket will be discounted!).
