SUMMARY:[WA] Australia's Emerging Varieties
DESCRIPTION:“It is not the strongest species that survive\, nor the most intelligent\, but the most responsive to change.”\nCharles Darwin\, Naturalist \n  \nThe Australian wine landscape has been through many changes over recent years. Not only are local producers exploring and working in the most celebrated international wine regions\, but climate change is undeniably being experienced on a global scale\, modifying the characteristics of many wine regions. \nRollo Crittenden (Crittenden Wines\, VIC) and Brad Wehr (Amato Vino\, WA) both have extensive knowledge of non-traditional or ’emerging’ varieties thriving in an Australian climate\, and will lead us through an diverse line-up of wines made using these exciting ’emerging’ varieties. They will also share their observations on Australia’s altering terroir and how these varieties are better suited to the changing local environmental conditions. \nThis masterclass aims to showcase the potential of Italian\, Greek\, Spanish\, Portuguese and other traditionally European varieties in the Australian environment\, rather than compare local examples to their European counterparts. Although we don’t mind them at all! \nThe line-up will include wines from Amato Vino\, Chalmers\, Crittenden Wines and S.C. Pannell. \n  \nCOST:\nSommeliers Australia Members – $20 + booking fee \nNon-Members – $35 + booking fee \n  \nCLICK HERE to book your seat via Eventbrite. \n  \nPLEASE NOTE: Bookings are essential\, and will be taken until 5pm\, Tuesday 20 August unless booked out prior. \n  \nPlease contact info@sommeliers.com.au prior to RSVPing\, if you are unsure of your membership status.
