DESCRIPTION: * Applications close Friday 14 October *\nIn conjunction with Sommeliers Australia\, Tumbarumba Vignerons Association invites Sommeliers Australia Professional members to apply for Immerse Tumbarumba\, a unique three day immersion opportunity. \n  \nImmerse Tumbarumba will bring together sommeliers\, buyers\, writers and members of trade to picturesque Tumbarumba to experience everything this emerging wine region has to offer. \nHistorically a region that has contributed to some of Australia’s best Sparkling wines\, Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs\, the Tumbarumba region\, its wineries and brands are growing from strength to strength. \nImmerse Tumbarumba is offering the opportunity for up to five Sommeliers Australia members to be transported to Tumbarumba the morning of Monday 21 November and over the following two days experience a vineyard walk and talk\, three wine masterclasses\, dinners\, the chance to take a helicopter flight over the region and more\, before departing on Wednesday 23 November. All travel\, accommodation and meals will be provided for. \nThrough this event\, the Tumbarumba Vignerons Association seeks to showcase the region’s strengths in producing premium wine and connect with a diverse range of sommeliers working in all capacities across the trade. \n  \nAPPLICATION CRITERIA\nIn order to apply\, applicants must meet the following criteria:\n• Be based in NSW and actively working in the hospitality industry as a sommelier\, wine buyer\, or wine professional in a wine retail or distribution setting (applicants across all levels of industry experience are encouraged to apply);\n• Submit a current CV (Word or pdf only)\, highlighting relevant wine and service experience;\n• Have completed at least WSET Level 1 or have equivalent industry experience;\n• Be available to attend Immerse Tumbarumba from 21-23 November 2022; and\n• Complete a series of short answer wine related questions on the application form. \nTO APPLY: please email your completed application form along with your current CV (Word or pdf only)\, highlighting relevant wine and service experience to office@turnstyleevents.com.au by 5pm\, Friday 14 October. \n  \nDOWNLOAD THE APPLICATION FORM \n  \nAPPLICATION PROCESS\nApplications open Friday\, 30 September.\nApplications close Friday\, 14 October.\nApplications will be assessed the week of 17 October.\nSuccessful applicants will be advised no later than Monday\, 26 October.

DESCRIPTION:STUDY THIS HIGHLY REGARDED QUALIFICATION AT HOME.\nCANDIDATES MUST BOOK IN NO LATER THAN 6PM ON THE 6TH OCTOBER 2022. \nStudy for the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines online – the ideal course for those who want to learn about a wide range of wines. You will gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world\, the regions in which they are grown\, and the styles of wine they produce. \nThe Level 2 Award in Wines Online covers the same syllabus as the classroom course\, but through a supported Online Classroom. Through a combination of tasting and theory\, you will explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these wines with confidence. \nTasting is an essential part of studying for this course\, and you will need to taste a minimum of 8 wines (we can provide this 8 wines pack for you either as a premium or budget version). \nNo prior knowledge is required and you do not have to have completed any other qualification to enroll. \nThe course is delivered online and you have five weeks to complete it from the 17th October 2022 to the 20th November 2022. You can work through the course at your own pace. A minimum of six hours study per week is recommended to successfully complete the course. The Level 3 Award in Wines Online covers the same syllabus as the classroom course. \nThis course is designed to develop your ability to describe wine accurately and account in detail for the style\, quality and price of wines. It is an essential wine qualification. \nUnit 1\nThe key factors in the production of wine: location\, grape growing\, winemaking\, maturation and bottling\nThe key characteristics of the principal:\nstill wines of the world\nsparkling wines of the world\nfortified wines of the world\nHow to apply your understanding to make authoritative recommendations\nUnit 2\nHow to taste wines and evaluate quality\, identity and price\, using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT)\nA one-on-one Tasting Tutorial via Zoom/Skype\nOnline tastings of a minimum of 12 general styles of wines (we do offer a pack of 18 wines or 12 wines for a discounted price) \nThe course is delivered online and you have 9 weeks to complete it from the 31st October 2022 to the 1st January 2023. You can study the course at your own pace. A minimum of 10 hours study per week is recommended to a successful completion of the course.
