DESCRIPTION:WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines is a one full day course (9.30am-5.00pm) and is intended for people who have little or no prior knowledge of wine and is designed to provide a sound but simple introduction to wines. \nThe qualification provides basic familiarity with the main types and styles of wines and learnings that are beneficial to those working in the wine retail and hospitality sectors. At the completion of the course\, you will have the confidence to make recommendations to customers based on the wine style they are seeking. \nWhat you will learn: \n\nKey stages in grape growing and wine making\nKey characteristics of wines made from the principal grape varieties\nWine styles and key examples (EG light bodied\, low tannin red – Beaujolais)\nPrinciples involved in the storage and service of wine\nBasic principles of food and wine matching\n\nThis qualification has a minimum requirement of 6 hours in a classroom. We are delighted to introduce you to the concept of “Take a Closer Look” at Bourgogne Wines. \nThis is an invitation to step off the beaten path and delve into the lesser-known appellations that form the heart of Bourgogne’s remarkable diversity. \nOn May 27th 2025\, experience the diversity and depth of Bourgogne’s Terroir\, expressed through : \n\nAn exceptional range of wines presented by over 20 importers.\nAn interactive masterclass which will put under the spotlight Village AOCs\nA special selection of Bourgogne and Mâcon plus geographical denomination.\nAn immersive educational experience about Chablis wines inspired by the online game Unlock Chablis\n\nMasterclass: 10:30am to 12pm\nTrade tasting: 12pm to 5pm \nOpen to wine industry only.
