It also provides candidates with an in-depth understanding of wine styles\, wine regions\, grape varieties\, and wine production methods. Holders of the WSET level 3 Advanced Certificate in Wines will be able to describe the characteristics of the principle wines of the world and give information on the key factors influencing style\, quality and value. \nThe qualified student will also be in a position to advise management\, to answer customer queries authoritatively\, and to make informed selections of wines in a variety of situations. The Course is also suitable for keen enthusiasts wanting to continue their wine studies in a structured manner. \n  \nThe course covers the following: \n– Tasting Techniques \n– Burgundy and Alsace \n– Bordeaux and South West France \n– Loire\, Rhone and Southern France \n– Germany\, Austria\, Hungary \n– Italy \n– Spain and Portugal \n– USA\, Canada and Chile \n– Greece\, Argentina and South Africa \n– Sparkling wines \n– Fortified wine \nPalate training is part of every lesson. \nThis course runs for 7 weeks (Mondays and Tuesdays) from the 12th April to the 25th of May 6:30pm – 8:30pm with an Intensive Saturday on 1st of May 11am – 5pm. \nDetailed Course Dates and Times: \n– Mondays and Tuesdays on 12/04\, 13/04\, 19/04\, 20/04\, 27/04\, 03/05\, 04/05\, 10/05\, 11/05\, 17/05\, 18/05\, 24/05\, 25/05. This qualification is intended for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of wines or those seeking to build on the introductory knowledge gained with the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines. You’ll gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world\, the regions in which they are grown\, and the styles of wine they produce. Through a combination of tasting and theory\, you’ll explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these wines with confidence. \nWine tasting is a part of every session\, there is a strong European focus. \nThis course runs for three days from Wednesday the 14th of April to Friday the 16th of April 10:30am – 5:30pm with the examination on Friday the 16th of April at 4:30pm. \n  \nCourse Programme: \n– How to taste and describe wine using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT) \n– How environmental factors\, grape-growing\, winemaking and maturation options influence the style and quality of wines made from eight principal grape varieties: Chardonnay\, Pinot Grigio/ Gris\, Sauvignon Blanc\, Riesling\, Cabernet Sauvignon\, Merlot\, Pinot Noir\, Syrah/Shiraz \n– The style and quality of wines: made from 22 regionally important grape varieties; produced in over 70 geographical indications (GIs) around the world \n– How grape varieties and winemaking processes influence key styles of: Sparkling wines\, Fortified wines \n– Key labelling terms used to indicate origin\, style and quality \n– Principles and processes involved in the storage and service of wine \nPlease note: no refunds will be issued within 10 working days prior to the start of the course. The wine industry employs over 170 000 people across grape growing regions around Australia\, in addition to thousands of professionals in wine distribution\, sales and education.  \nInitiated by Out for Australia and Squealing Pig the ‘Out for Wine’ event is a forum to discuss the different experiences of what it’s like to be LGBTIQ+ in the wine industry. \nA diverse range of wine industry professionals will share the panel\, bringing their personal stories of being LGBTIQ+ in the wine industry\, and discuss cover topics such as: \n\nHow do you bring your most authentic self to work as an LGBTIQ+ professional?\nAre some parts of the industry more ‘welcoming’ than others?
