SUMMARY:[VIC] WSET Level 1 Award in Wines Online
DESCRIPTION:Learn about wines through a 4 week online study programme that is flexible to work around your existing commitments. The Level 1 Award in Wines Online covers the same syllabus as the classroom course\, but through a supported and interactive Online Classroom. \nYou will learn how to taste wine using a systematic approach and be able to identify the main styles of wine. You’ll also learn to apply these to your own food and wine choices. \nAs you work through the course you will be asked to share your learning experience with the rest of the course group\, by sharing your tasting notes. Tasting is an essential part of studying for this course\, and you will need to taste a minimum of 6 wines (can be provided at a discounted price of $150). \nThe course covers: \n\nThe main types and styles of wine\nCommon wine grapes and their characteristics\nHow to make food and wine pairings\nOnline tasting of six wines with educator feedback (students to provide their own samples)\nHow to store and serve wine\nHow to describe wine using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT)\n\nNo prior knowledge is required. The course is delivered online and in English therefore basic computer literacy\, internet navigation skills and a good level of English are required. \nThe course starts online on the 14th of April. It contains of 7 modules that students work through at their own pace. \nA minimum of 12 hours of study is recommended to successfully complete the course and participation is essential. \nExam to be held at Wine House Australia\, 133 Queensbridge Street\, Southbank VIC 3006 with the date to be confirmed due to Covid-19. Please note the student is still required to physically come to our venue to take the exam. \nThe cost of $255 includes access to our Online Classroom\, online tuition and examination. \nAdditionally we offer a selected 6 pack of Wines for the tasting component of the course at a discounted rate of $150 \nPlease note: no refunds will be issued within 10 working days prior to the start of the course. Before that period a 75% refund is allowed if a student cancels their enrolment. A 100% refund will apply if Wine House cancels.
