SUMMARY:[NSW] Bathurst Region Vignerons come to Sydney
DESCRIPTION:Bathurst is the closest wine region to Sydney where grapes were first planted in the 1830’s. Bathurst was the first inland settlement by the pioneers in Wiradgiri country in 1815. Charles Darwin visited in 1836 and Cobb and Co moved there in 1862. The typical climate conditions are winter rain and snow and warm dry summers. The soil geology is mostly older metamorphosed volcanics and sediments with areas of granite soils around Bathurst. \nSix of the wineries in the Bathurst region are bringing their wine to Sydney on 16th August 2019 to show the range and quality of our cool climate wines. The Bathurst Region Vignerons run the National Cool Climate Wine Show in Bathurst\, held in October each year in which our regional wines are judged against the best from around Australia. Our wines have achieved  several  gold and silver medals and many bronze medals over the last 20 years. We are particularly proud of our Chardonnays and Rieslings and our Italian varieties\, together  with of course our velvety Shiraz. \nWineries represented will be :- \nBellbrook Friends \nGrass Parrot \nPine Ridge \nThree Views \nRenzaglia \nVale Creek \n  \nWines available to be tasted will include :- \nChardonnay\, Riesling\, Sauvignon Blanc\, Vermentino\, Pinot Grigio\, Rose\, Pinot Noir\, Cabernet Sauvignon\, Cabernet franc \, Shiraz\, Barbera and Sangiovese. \n  \nLight snacks will be provided at the wineries expense from Bellagio Catering. We are expecting wine writers\, sommeliers\, caterers  and  wholesalers. Orders will of course be welcome. \n  \nFor further information\, contact:-     Tony Hatch of Vale Creek Wines\, president BRVA  0418227143 \nGeorge Clark of Bellbrook Friends Wines\, vice president BRVA 0414572294
