The Sommeliers Australia National Executive Committee (NEC) would like to announce to all members the retirement of President David Lawler from the National and Victorian Committees.

In an excerpt from his ‘Letter to Members’, David writes:

“I hope 2018 is bringing a bounty of tasty wine for you all.

I have recently taken some time myself to consider the balance and focus of things in my life. At this time, I have decided to step down as President of Sommeliers Australia.”

“I have been privileged to work with so many dedicated people to help build this association. The committees that have been so active for the last few years have lifted this association to its most solid level yet: great initiatives executed very well by those sharing a vision, and striving to ‘raise the bar’ for this profession.”

The NEC thanks David for his twenty years of commitment to Sommeliers Australia, and we wish him all the best for the future. His vision for the sommelier profession in Australia and his commitment to service excellence has seen our association, and the industry, benefit under his Presidency.

In a recent vote by the NEC, it was decided that committee members Sarah Andrew (VIC) and Franck Moreau (NSW) would act as Co-Presidents until the next AGM, when a National President will be appointed.
