Tim Perlstone of Merivale!

With second place awarded to Remi Craquelin (Iki-Jime) and third place to Patrick Burgun (Barangaroo House).

The win is made all the more sweeter as Tim came second in last year’s Challenge.

Hosted by Ruinart winemaker, Caroline Fiot, the theme of the wines for this year was thiols and centred on Sauvignon Blanc varietals. The wines tasted certainly made for a challenging exam, but the talented Sommeliers in the room rose to the occasion.

Congratulations to Tim, who has won an all-expenses paid trip to Champagne in July this year to visit Maison Ruinart with other Challenge winners from around the world, and to all the Sommeliers who competed so well.
